Sadly enough, even though few would admit to it, there will be some who would say “amen” with the quote above. Well, please read on.

As many go to the polls Tuesday, there is one issue that has divided the people on all sides of the political spectrum. It has also divided people all across the religious spectrum, including some pastors. Remember, ministers, if you deny Him and His Word, He will deny you. There have been articles written and discussed, and many words written back and forth. Many claim that all the biblical expressions that condemn homosexuality is strictly Old Testament writings and does not pertain to the world we live in today. Many have even claimed that nothing can be found in the News Testament that condemns homosexuality.

Okay, let’s have a look. First off, we must realize that the New Testament’s original language was the Greek language, one of the most descriptive of all languages. The Old Testament was of the Hebrew language, was written in the times of Law. God realized mankind could not uphold the law, so that’s why the provision was made for His only begotten Son to take on the sins of mankind, in order to usher in this time of Grace,

One thing that seems to be overlooked by some, is that even though the laws of the Old Testament could not be kept by mankind, just because they were in the Bible did not make them religious per se. Such as, “Thou shalt not kill” does not mean that it only applies to Christian or religious people. It applies to all mankind, all of humanity. In the Old Testament, there were commandments such as “Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother”, yet, outside the religious settings, they may be a good rule to follow in a polite and peaceful society. So, why do things such as the Ten Commandments offend people if they are even mentioned as being placed inside a court room? If they weren’t in the Bible, do you still think they would be a pretty good code to live by? One must also look at the context of Biblical laws, and measure that even though something may be allowed, is it healthy or beneficial?

Separation of Church and State is getting just about as old these days as the phrases racist and haters. Heaven forbid you may disagree with someone. That’s a borderline hate crime you got going there. So, let’s look at the words from the New Testament, and also using a little exegesis, actually look at the original meaning of the word in the particular context in which it’s used.

In Romans 1: 25-27, 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10, 1 Timothy 1: 8-10, a few verses related to our subject. I won’t quote them here. Hopefully, you will look them up for yourself.

The bible is not the only place where you’ll see the definitions of man and wife and husband and wife. The dictionary does so:

One final thing. It has been said by many, that the State should not be making these laws and creating a “theocracy” and the state should not try to legislate morality, etc. Well, I’d be the first to agree, since the state is doing so well with those Secret Service guys and their morality. Also, the state isn’t passing the law, it’s up to the people. The people will have the final say, not the state.

And about this church and state thing.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Many people focus on the first part while ignoring the second phrase: or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

It says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, but the people are free to exercise their religion. Congress is prohibited from declaring a national religion and financially supporting a religion, as some countries did and continue to do today.
